Does KitchFlow really work 100% offline?
Yes. KitchFlow was designed with an offline-first architecture. It uses your browser's local IndexedDB database to mirror the entire server structure. You can add items, place orders, apply discounts, generate bills, print thermal receipts, and even track staff attendance without an active internet connection. As soon as the network stabilizes, a background sync engine automatically batch-uploads offline transactions and pulls down updates from the server.
Do I need to buy expensive touchscreen POS registers?
No, absolutely not. KitchFlow is built as a Progressive Web App (PWA). It runs smoothly in Google Chrome or Apple Safari. You can use standard Android tablets, iPads, mobile phones, or desktop PCs you already own. There is no proprietary hardware locking.
Is KitchFlow BIR-compliant?
Yes. The billing engine is built to meet Philippine tax guidelines. It supports a VAT / Non-VAT toggle, performs precise 12% VAT separation, processes pax-based discounts for Senior Citizens and PWDs (under Philippine law where their individual consumption is VAT-exempted plus a 20% discount is applied), and generates BIR-compliant X Reports and Z Reports for shifts.
How do we print thermal receipts from a browser?
KitchFlow uses the Web Serial API and Web Bluetooth API. This allows the app running inside Chrome to communicate directly with ESC/POS thermal printers connected to your device via USB cable or Bluetooth. There is no need for local printer driver software.
Can multiple waiters take orders tableside simultaneously?
Yes. KitchFlow has a dedicated mobile-optimized tableside layout. Waiters can load the URL on their mobile phones, select a table, input items, and send them instantly. The orders immediately pop up on the cashier's main POS register and show up on the Kitchen Display System (KDS) panels in real-time.
